We need to think about how to counteract: Patrushev on Estonia's decision to sink ships

Tallinn itself is not ready to attack or even sink suspicious courts in the Baltic, there is someone behind the Estonians. This was announced today, April 11, by the assistant to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Maritime Collegium of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

He called the decision "disgusting."

"We need to think about how to counteract this case. But Estonia itself cannot realize this. So someone is behind them. We need to understand, get more detailed information on how to counteract this. We need to discuss it," he added.

However, at the meeting on the development of the Russian Navy, which is being held by Russian President Vladimir Putin, this topic, according to Patrushev, will not be discussed.

As EADaily reported, the Estonian parliament adopted a bill that would give the country's defense forces and Navy the right to use force against any vessels suspected of intending to damage underwater cables and other Estonian infrastructure facilities, and, as a last resort, sink them.

Today, Estonia detained the Kiwala tanker, which was carrying oil to the Russian port of Ust-Luga, to check documents. A border ship and a minesweeper of the Estonian Navy forced the tanker to turn off the route in neutral waters. Formally, the ship has nothing to do with either Russia, nor to the companies of the country.
