The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to Zelensky's statement yesterday that the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured two Chinese soldiers who fought on the side of Russia in the Donbas. The corresponding statement at the briefing was made by the official representative of the department Lin Jian, TASS reports.
According to him, China did not send military personnel to participate in the Ukrainian conflict.
"The Chinese government has always demanded that its citizens stay away from the zone of armed conflict [in Ukraine], avoid involvement in any form, in particular, refrain from participating in military operations of any of the parties," the diplomat said.
He added that the facts related to the allegations that in a special military operation Russian Federation citizens of the People's Republic of China participate, are checked.
As Zelensky said earlier, six Chinese participated in the battle in the settlements of Tarasovka and Belogorovka in the DPR. Two of them were captured.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Charge d'affaires in Kiev for China.
