A group of 50 US senators is ready to vote for tougher anti-Russian sanctions if Moscow refuses to participate in the peace process in Ukraine. This is stated in a joint statement by the senators.
It is noted that the measures will include 500% duties against countries that purchase Russian oil, gas and uranium.
"These sanctions will be imposed if Russia refuses to negotiate in good faith for a lasting peace with Ukraine or undertakes other efforts, including a military invasion, that will undermine Ukraine's sovereignty after the conclusion of peace. The legislation also establishes 500 percent duties on imported goods from countries that buy Russian oil, gas, uranium and other products," RIA Novosti quoted a fragment of the statement.
The above group of senators includes both Democrats and representatives of the ruling Republican Party. In particular, among them is Republican Lindsey Graham❶.
