Donald Trump's administration is considering recognizing Crimea as Russian territory in an attempt to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict. This is reported by the Semafor portal, citing sources.

"The Trump administration is considering the possibility of recognizing the Ukrainian Crimea as Russian territory as part of any future agreement to end Moscow's war with Kiev, two sources familiar with the matter said. According to both sources, administration officials also discussed the possibility of the United States calling on the United Nations to do the same," the note says.

It is noted that Trump has not formally made any decisions and possible steps regarding Crimea are one of the many options that are offered as part of the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. The White House declined to comment, the portal emphasizes.

As EADaily reported, the fate of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will be discussed during a telephone conversation between the presidents of the United States and Russia Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. This was stated at a briefing by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.
