European countries do not seek a peaceful end to the armed conflict on the Ukraine is trying to extend it for another year.
This was stated in an interview with CNN by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to him, in this way European politicians hope to weaken Russia.
"One foreign minister told me. I'm not going to name him, but I can convey the essence: the war continues for another year to the point where Russia will feel so weakened that they will ask for peace," the head of the State Department said.
Rubio called this plan "unrealistic" and stressed that prolonging the conflict for another year would only lead to even greater casualties and destruction.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Marco Rubio called on Volodymyr Zelensky to apologize for the conflict situation at a meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Jay D. Vance.
