Two-time Oscar winner, actor Gene Hackman has died at the age of 95. This is reported by the Variety portal.
Together with him in the house in In Santa Fe, New Mexico, his wife, 63-year-old classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead.
According to the county sheriff's office, there are no direct indications of a "violent death", at the same time, the police did not name the cause of death.
"All I can say is that we are in the middle of a preliminary investigation into the death, waiting for the approval of a search warrant," the sheriff said, assuring that there is no danger to the residents of the county.
Hackman is considered one of the greatest actors of the second half of the XX century. The actor's filmography includes more than 80 films.
He received his first Oscar in 1972 for his role in the film The French Messenger. The second Oscar was awarded in 1993 for the supporting role in Clint Eastwood's film Unforgiven.
