Belarusian oppositionists have asked the US Department of State Efficiency (DOGE) of Elon Musk to figure out where the funds that were sent to Belarus through the USAID foundation to promote "democracy" have gone. This was announced by ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Anna Kanopatskaya.
"Hundreds of millions of dollars aimed at supporting democracy in Belarus were distributed through the office (of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya — EADaily) and the structures created by it. However, over the four years of using US aid, these structures have never provided the public with reliable reports on the expenditure of these funds," Kanopatskaya said in a letter posted on her page on one of the social networks.
In this regard, Konopatskaya asked DOGE to initiate an investigation against the "Tikhanovskaya Office" (recognized in Belarus as an extremist formation) in the United States, as well as to assess the threat that "its activities pose to the national security of America and Belarus."
Recall, Tikhavnoska lost the presidential election in Belarus in 2020 and fled the country. After that, she and her supporters, with the support of the West, organized a number of structures that aim to overthrow Alexander Lukashenko, including by force.
