In the very center of Warsaw — a daring theft. According to unofficial data, two criminals, allegedly natives of Georgia, stole a quarter of a million zlotys (this is almost 6 million rubles).
The incident occurred in the afternoon on Zhuravya Street in the very center of the capital. A large amount of money was stolen from a parked car — most likely a quarter of a million zlotys.
"Before 11 am, a criminal incident occurred at house No. 14 on Zhuravya Street. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene. The events are continuing," Yakub Patsynyak from the district police department in Warsaw—Sredmestye quotes "For the Future".
Presumably, the criminals opened the car door and pulled out a bag with money from it, but they did not break the car window. Their faces were recorded by city surveillance cameras. According to unofficial information, the theft was committed by two citizens of Georgia.
In recent months, Polish services have noted an increase in the activity of gangs whose members come from Georgia.
"These groups act ruthlessly, committing brutal robberies in broad daylight, often in public places. Robberies occur on busy streets and in the centers of large cities, and their victims are people who withdraw large amounts of money from banks, owners of currency exchange offices and persons who have valuables with them," the Polish edition of Kresy clarifies.
Earlier, EADaily quoted Andrzej Mroczek from the Polish Center for Terrorism Studies:
"We are dealing with organized criminal groups operating on the model of corporations. One group arrives, commits robberies, and then disappears, and another comes to replace it. Why has Poland become a paradise for Georgian gangsters? There are several reasons. Firstly, Georgian citizens can stay in the Schengen area without a visa for 90 days. Secondly, Poland is perceived as a stable country with a constantly growing society, which makes it an attractive target."
