A Russian cable broke in the exclusive economic zone of Finland in the Gulf of Finland. This is reported in the social network X Coast Guard of the Gulf of Finland.
"The Coast Guard of the Gulf of Finland monitors the implementation of the law on the exclusive economic zone and the conditions for the use of the exclusive economic zone in the Gulf of Finland, where a Russian vessel is currently repairing a broken Russian cable," the report said, quoted by Interfax.
"Repair work has begun today, the Turva patrol vessel is at the scene," the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard command center told Yle.
According to Ilya Ilyin, Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard of the Gulf of Finland, Russia notified in advance about the cable break, the notification was drawn up in accordance with the terms of the work permit in the exclusive economic zone of Finland.
The Coast Guard did not provide details about what kind of cable it was, citing the fact that this issue is the responsibility of its owners, the Finnish news agency STT notes, in turn.
