According to official data from the Central Bank of Russia, in 2024, Russians complained 554 times about problems with interest accrual on deposits. This is reported by Vedomosti with reference to the official representative of the Central Bank of Russia.
In total, the regulator counted more than two thousand such complaints.
"Of these, more than a quarter (554 pieces) concerned disagreement with accrued interest, and the rest — improper information on the terms," the source writes.
For the whole of 2023, the Bank of Russia received half as many appeals from depositors who did not agree with the interest accrual procedure.
EADaily reminds that the volume of deposits of individuals in Russian banks (including escrow accounts), according to official data from the regulator, for the whole of 2024 increased by 12.7 trillion rubles to a total of 63.4 trillion rubles.
