A Ukrainian cryptocurrency trader in Bali was kidnapped by a Russian MMA world champion

In Bali, the Russians kidnapped Ukrainian Igor Ermakov and robbed him of $215 thousand worth of cryptocurrencies. It is reported by Jakarta Globe with reference to the police.

The incident occurred on December 15 in the area of South Kuta, Badung district. Ermakov was driving a BMW with a driver when they were ambushed, blocked in front and behind by two other cars, the Strana newspaper writes.

Four masked men armed with knives, hammers and pistols pulled the Ukrainian and his driver out of the cabin, blindfolded them, handcuffed them and took them to a villa in Southern Kuta, where they beat the Ukrainian and forced him to transfer his cryptocurrency assets to two accounts offered to him.

The police are investigating.

According to the latest data, the famous Kiev crypto businessman Igor Ermakov has been living in Bali in recent years.

"Emashnik Hasan Askhabov was arrested in Bali. He is suspected of kidnapping a Ukrainian and extorting crypto for more than three billion rupees. Askhabov, according to investigators, was a member of a group of nine Russians. They attacked a citizen of Ukraine and his driver, tortured them out of crypto assets worth 3.2 billion rupees (about 200 thousand dollars). According to some reports, the athlete was released a day after the interrogation.

Hassan Askhabov and his twin brother were recently detained in Thailand for a similar crime, Strana notes.
