The National Bank recorded a sharp intensification of remittances from Georgia

The volume of money transfers in Georgia in the first half of 2026 increased by 4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $ 1.9 billion.

According to the National Bank, the maximum monthly revenue for the first half of the year was recorded in June, when the inflow of funds increased by 10.4% year-on-year to $ 348.26 million (925 million lari).

In the structure of June transfers, the leadership is held by the USA, from where $ 66.2 million (19.01% of the total share) came, which is 12.68% more than in June 2025. The second place was taken by Italy with a volume of $ 54.18 million (+4.92%), the third by Russia, transfers from which showed an increase of 25.12% to $ 51.42 million (14.76% of the total).

The top 10 also includes Germany ($30.36 million), Israel ($29.40 million) and Greece ($27.52 million).

At the same time, the National Bank records a sharp intensification of transfers from Georgia. For January-June 2026 from $212.8 million was sent abroad to Georgia, which is 111.7% higher than in the first half of last year.

Azerbaijan remained the largest destination for the withdrawal of funds by the end of the half—year - $ 36.5 million was transferred there (an increase of 75.3%). Turkey ($ 33.8 million) and Russia ($ 26.1 million) also entered the top three recipients. They are followed by Ukraine ($13.4 million) and Greece ($12.7 million).
