The faction of the Christian Democratic Union / Christian Social Union (CDU / CSU) intends to put to the vote in the Bundestag a resolution suggesting the declaration of an emergency situation in Germany due to the migration crisis, writes today, January 26, tabloid "Bild" with reference to the text of the document.
"The candidate for the post of chancellor from the CDU/CSU, CDU chairman Friedrich Merz intends to achieve the introduction of an emergency situation due to migration policy, which will circumvent European legislation at the borders of Germany," the publication says.
The CDU/CSU faction intends to put to the vote a total of five items, including measures to establish "long-term border controls," "immediate deportations that should be carried out daily," as well as the establishment of strict supervision of migrants who have violated the law. In addition, Merz and his team announced the completion of work on a bill to tighten the rules for obtaining asylum.
"The murder of a child and an adult man who wanted to help illustrates a new dimension of violence that is increasingly shaking Germany. The German Bundestag refuses to recognize that this is a new norm in Germany," reads the text of the explanatory note to the bill, recalling the recent massacre in the city of Aschaffenburg.
Further, the CDU/CSU explains the need to introduce an emergency regime in the current realities:
"In the current conditions, Germany and, consequently, the federal government are obliged to make a choice in favor of national legislation, given that the norms The EU no longer works," the document says.
It is noteworthy that in the explanatory note, Merz openly criticizes the opposition Alternative for Germany party (AdG), the foundations of whose program in the field of migration policy actually formed the basis of the CDU/CSU initiative.
"Those who fight migration also deprive populists of their political base. The AfD uses the problems, fears and fears caused by mass migration to incite xenophobia and spread conspiracy theories. The party wants Germany to leave The EU and instead joined the Eurasian Economic Union. All this endangers the stability, security and prosperity of Germany. That is why this party is not a partner, but our political opponent," the document says.
Thus, rejecting cooperation with the "AfD", the CDU/CSU actually casts doubt on the possibility of adopting the bill at a vote in the Bundestag, since, unlike the "AfD", other "partners" of the CDU/CSU are likely to reject the Merz plan because of its excessive radicalism by the standards of the current migration policy of Germany.
