After a massive night attack by Ukrainian drones in Saratov region, in particular the oil depot of one of the enterprises in Engels, the regional authorities announced that an emergency regime will be introduced, as the fire area continues to increase. It became known about two dead firefighters.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, this night 11 UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Saratov region.
"Due to the increase in the fire area at an industrial enterprise that was attacked by a UAV, an emergency regime will be introduced in Engels. Unfortunately, as a result of the liquidation, there are two dead — employees of the fire service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Also, one specialist was admitted to the hospital. The Minister of Health has been instructed to keep the provision of medical care under special control," the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, said in his telegram channel.
He added that "throughout the day in Engels in the area of the fire, air samples are taken by specialists of the Rospotrebnadzor department."
"No excess of pollutants has been recorded," he wrote.
Information is spreading on social networks that the alleged target of the AFU strike was the oil depot of the Kristall plant of the Federal Reserve, where fuel is stored for the Engels-2 military airbase, where strategic bombers are based.
Recall that "Engels-2" after the start of SMO on Ukraine has been repeatedly attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The last time Ukrainian drones flew there was on December 10 last year. Governor Busargin reported that casualties and destruction were avoided.
