It is expected that during the visit the issues of the rights of the peoples inhabiting Syria will be discussed, as they "cannot be undermined by excessively long waiting times for elections." Berbok will also try to restore diplomatic relations between Damascus and Berlin.
"We want to support the Syrians in an inclusive, peaceful transfer of power, in the reconciliation of society, in the reconstruction of the country in addition to the humanitarian assistance that we have been providing to the people of Syria all these years.
