In German Hirschberg (Baden-Württemberg), a 26-year-old refugee from Ukraine tried to attack police officers with an axe and a knife. They were forced to open fire to kill, the Bild tabloid reports today, December 30.

As the man ran threateningly with a weapon at law enforcement officers, he was shot. Vladislav O. from Ukraine was seriously injured," the newspaper writes.
According to Bild, the man has been living in Germany for two years in a hostel for refugees. According to his friend, Vladislav "suffers from schizophrenia and depression," and in general he is "a wonderful and friendly young man."
As a result, the criminal was taken to the hospital, nothing is known about his condition yet. And the police are finding out what prompted the young man to take up the axe.
