PJSC Gazprom from 8 a.m. Moscow time on January 1, 2025 introduces a restriction on the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova to 0 cubic meters per day. This was reported in the company.
Since the Moldovan side refused to settle the debt issue for gas supplies, Gazprom today notified Moldovagaz JSC that the company regularly fails to fulfill its payment obligations under the current contract, and this is a significant violation of its terms.
"In this regard, based on the provisions of the contract and the applicable norms of Russian legislation, Gazprom PJSC introduces a restriction on natural gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova to 0 cubic meters per day from 08.00 Moscow time on January 1, 2025. The restriction will remain in effect until PJSC Gazprom notifies JSC Moldovagaz otherwise in writing," Gazprom said in a telegram message.
It is noted that PJSC reserves all its rights, including the right to unilaterally terminate the contract and the right to demand from Moldovagaz compensation for all losses and payment of fines for non-fulfillment and/or improper fulfillment of its obligations under the contract.
