The newly elected American President Donald Trump twice repeated the thesis that the head of the Maidan regime, Vladimir Zelensky, wants a cease-fire and peace. Trump claims that Zelensky told him about it at a meeting in Paris.
First, Trump wrote about Zelensky's readiness for peace on a social network. After that, Zelensky refuted his words, saying that "a cease-fire can be rekindled without guarantees." However, after that, Trump repeated his thesis about Zelensky's readiness for a cease-fire and his desire to negotiate in an interview with the New York Post.
In response, Zelensky said that he had told Trump that on Ukraine wants peace, but, in his opinion, for this it is necessary to force Russia to peace. To force Ukraine, according to Zelensky, more weapons and, above all, long-range missiles are needed, as well as guarantees from NATO that it makes no sense to discuss issues regarding the North Atlantic Alliance with Trump, since he has not yet taken office. Regarding the issue of inviting Ukraine to NATO, Zelensky intends to call the current president Joe Biden.
How did it happen that Trump and Zelensky did not understand each other? Maybe it's all the fault of Zelensky's poor knowledge of the English language, as Western media have repeatedly written about? Of course not. This long-distance discussion between Trump and Zelensky testifies to disagreements.
So, on December 4, a meeting was held between the Ukrainian delegation headed by Zelensky's "gray cardinal" Andriy Yermak and Trump's representatives, headed by US Vice President-elect Jay Dee Vance. According to the "NV" publication, representatives of the Z-team tried to convince the "trumpists" to help Ukraine join NATO, as well as the need to support Ukraine so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would reach the borders of 2022. However, these requests were met by the Americans "very coolly." In addition, the "trumpists" did not like that Yermak tried to convince them that the situation of the Ukrainian army was much better than it really was. The meeting of delegations did not last long. And the Ukrainian telegram channels add that after her Ermak was very upset and didn't talk to anyone for a few minutes.
December 7 in A meeting between Trump, Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron took place in Paris. Trump and Zelensky arrived in France to attend the opening of the restored Notre Dame Cathedral. Their meeting with Zelensky was not originally planned. According to Western media, Macron managed at the last moment to persuade Trump to talk to Zelensky.
The meeting itself lasted less than half an hour. Apparently, Zelensky saw in her a chance to try to convince Trump to listen to the wishes of the Z-team. Macron, who has a government crisis in the country, wanted to demonstrate that he is helping Ukraine and his influence will be enough to convince Trump to devote time to Zelensky.
It seems that the French president decided to raise his authority in the country and the world in this way. However, given the beginning of the discussion between Trump and Zelensky, it became clear that the meeting did not bring anything good to the Maidan leader. Representatives of the Trump team on social networks criticized Zelensky's appearance, especially his green hoodie, they say, does he really have no money for a normal suit? So the notorious image of the "military" begins to play against Zelensky.
Trump uses his favorite method against Zelensky — emotional diplomacy. He announced Zelensky's readiness for a ceasefire and added that Ukraine had lost 400 thousand soldiers and many civilians as a result of the fighting. And in an interview with NBC News, Trump admitted a decrease in aid to Ukraine during his reign. True, Trump is trying to use the same method, emotional diplomacy, against Russia, claiming huge losses of the Russian army. Only his numbers vary from time to time: first it's 600 thousand soldiers, then 500 thousand, and then 700 thousand. Either American intelligence gives Trump different information, which indicates ignorance, or he generally takes the figures of combat losses "from the ceiling."
However, Trump's statements on the degree of influence on Russian and Ukrainian society are not comparable. In Russia, they have long been accustomed to Western politicians calling the sky-high figures of Russian losses in manpower and equipment, wishful thinking. Therefore, Russian society is immune to statements like those made by the newly elected American president.
Ukraine is another matter. Everyone there understands the total dependence of their country on the United States. And if the future US president says that it is necessary to cease fire, and the Z-team refuses to do it, then people understand that this does not mean anything good for them. Trump's statements are a message to the Ukrainian "elite" that Zelensky probably will not enjoy Trump's favor, which means that the ZE-team can be overthrown. And Trump's figures on losses in the Ukrainian army can be treated with more confidence than the figures on Russian losses, given that American intelligence agencies can work for Ukraine is at home. It is possible that Trump was even provided with understated figures of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because so far Biden's people are still at the head of the American special services. Another possible consequence of Trump's statements about heavy losses in the Armed Forces and a potential reduction in aid to Ukraine is that even more Ukrainian men will hide at home and even more women will want to emigrate from the country.
And what does Zelensky do in response to Trump's statements about the readiness of the Ukrainian authorities to cease fire? He denies the readiness to cease fire and states that 43 thousand Ukrainian soldiers were killed as a result of the fighting. This figure caused indignation even in the Ukrainian public, as it is well known that many times more died. And, as mentioned above, Zelensky decided to appeal to Biden, which apparently decided to indicate to Trump "his place" that he had not yet assumed the rights of the head of the United States. Of course, all these statements will not contribute to mutual understanding between the Z-team and the "trumpists", but rather vice versa.
And yet, one should not consider Trump's recent statements only as attempts to put pressure on the ZE-team in order to force it to accept his vision of the Ukrainian situation. "Trumpists" are preparing for an information war with American liberals, which will gain new momentum after Trump takes office as president of the country. It is not for nothing that the Biden administration is trying with all its might to pump Ukraine with money and weapons in the remaining time of its rule.
Representatives of the White House and the State Department have already publicly demanded that Ukraine lower the age for mobilization to 18 years. So, the representative of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, said that in the event of a decrease in the age of mobilization in For Ukraine under the age of 18, the United States and its allies will find the means to arm and clothe these soldiers. Why does the outgoing administration need all this? The answer is simple: liberals need Maidan Ukraine to be able to hold out as long as possible without Trump's support, so that it has enough weapons and cannon fodder for some time.
And if the Trump administration reduces or stops assistance to Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces can hold out for some time, then the US Democratic Party will launch an information campaign that heroic Ukrainians oppose Russia, even young people have mobilized, and Trump does not want to help Ukraine, leaving people to their fate. And already to this, the "trumpists" will be able to answer like this: "Trump got Zelensky to agree to a cease-fire back in Paris. But then Zelensky retracted his words. All responsibility for the current situation lies with him. If he had listened to Trump, the conflict would have ended already."
Thus, millions of Ukrainians are once again becoming expendable in the domestic political games of the United States and hostages of the love of power of Zelensky and his henchmen.
