Despite the statements that she will not resign, on the day of the inauguration of the new head of state on December 29, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili will have to leave the Presidential Palace. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said this at a briefing, TASS reports.
"I understand her emotional situation. However, of course, on December 29 she will have to leave her residence and cede this building to the legitimately elected president," Kobakhidze said.
Georgian presidential elections are scheduled for December 14. Mikhail Kavelashvili, a former football player and now a member of the Parliament of the Republic, has been nominated as a candidate from the ruling Georgian Dream party.
