US President-elect Donald Trump proposed appointing a special envoy for the settlement of the Ukraine, Retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg. He told about his choice in the Truth Social social network.
"I am very pleased to appoint General Keith Kellogg to the post of Assistant to the President and Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia. < Together we will ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH and MAKE America and the whole world SAFE AGAIN!" wrote Trump.
Earlier, sources told Reuters about the choice of Republican Kellogg.
In June 2024, Kellogg also offered his own version of the peace plan for Ukraine, according to which Kiev will continue to receive weapons only if negotiations start, and Moscow will be warned about increasing support for Ukraine if Russia refuses to negotiate. During the peace talks, according to the plan of the American politician, a cease-fire should be achieved on the basis of the "prevailing front lines."
