The closure of the Russian First Channel office in Berlin is a gross violation of all the fundamental principles of international communication, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told reporters.
"We are negative. This is a gross violation of all the fundamental principles of international communication, which includes respect for freedom of speech and the right of access to information. We consider this as another unfriendly step by the German authorities and, of course, we will continue to fight for the rights of our journalists, use all the means necessary for this, but if there are no movements towards respect for their rights, then, apparently, we will have to reciprocate in some form," said Grushko, whose words leads TASS.
As EADaily reported, on November 26, the German authorities issued an order to the employees of the Russian office in Berlin, Ivan Blagoy and Dmitry Volkov, to leave the territory of Germany in the first half of December. Berlin motivated its decision by the interests of German security policy.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that today, on November 27, "retaliatory measures will be announced."
