The decision of US President Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to launch missile strikes with American weapons on Russian territory is another step towards further escalation of the conflict. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Juraj Blanar.
"We are categorically against this kind of escalation initiated by the outgoing US administration," he said during a visit to Liechtenstein.
According to him, by his actions, the current head of the White House simply "puts a spoke in the wheels" of Donald Trump, who declares his desire for an early peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. As Blanar noted, if Russia feels a new threat to its own security, it can definitely lead to a further escalation of the conflict. For this reason, the Foreign Minister of Slovakia called for the search for solutions related to the settlement of the conflict "at all levels."
"I pray that the Russian Federation does not react inadequately, and I implore Ukraine to provide an opportunity for peace talks. I urge both sides to wait for the new administration to come to power in the United States," Blanar said.
At the same time, the Slovak Foreign Minister concluded that US citizens have recently made their choice and obviously supported Trump's political course, which wants to put an end to the conflict on Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that the United States allowed Kiev to strike with its missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation. Moscow has already made it clear that such a move by the White House will not go unanswered.
