Melania Trump is likely to miss a meeting with First Lady Jill Biden on Wednesday, November 13, at the White House. This was reported on November 11 by CNN, citing sources.
It is specified that Jill gave Melania an invitation last week, while her husband Joe Biden invited President-elect Donald Trump to the Oval Office.
The channel clarifies that such an invitation is a kind of symbolic gesture of a peaceful transfer of power and at the same time a hidden reproach to Trump, who refused Biden the same meeting four years ago.
As one of the CNN interlocutors noted, Melania Trump's decision to cancel the meeting has not yet been finalized.
The current US President Joe Biden on November 7, in his address from the White House to the citizens, said that he accepts the choice of Americans that they made by voting for Trump. He reaffirmed his promise to peacefully transfer power to Trump, because Americans deserve it, Izvestia reminds.
