Considered the first political refugee from the USA in In Russia, John Robles received a Russian passport. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk in her telegram channel.
"In 1996, he arrived in Russia, worked as an English teacher. Currently he is a literary translator. After the start of SMO, he helped deliver humanitarian supplies to the Russian military and residents of border areas," the report says.
The Russian passport was handed over to Robles in the assembly hall of the Serpukhovskoye Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region.
The man said that he considers Russia his home and expressed gratitude to the police and government officials who helped him realize his dream of Russian citizenship.
Robles himself calls himself "the first refugee from the empire of lies", who has been waiting for this moment for 30 years, and has been living as a refugee for 17 years.
