Videos are gaining popularity on the Web, which show how German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock was not honored with a reception during her visits to India and China, German media reported today, October 28.
"According to the latest polls, the German government is now more unpopular than ever. Over the past few months, some citizens seem to have become so imbued with a real hatred of the Greens that they use any excuse to discredit party politicians. German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok was at the epicenter of another replicated scandal," the publications note.
The videos, which are actively distributed among German users of social networks, show how the minister, after landing her government flight in India and China, turns out to be "not needed by anyone." The footage shows that representatives of the host delegations do not meet at the Berbok airport, and after descending the ramp, the politician is forced to proceed to her motorcade unaccompanied.
The discussion of the "forgotten" Berbok has reached such proportions that the official representative of the German Foreign Ministry, Sebastian Fischer, hastened to issue a rebuttal.
"The video is not from India. It is also claimed that it is from China. This is also incorrect. We are talking about the landing of the Foreign Minister in Malaysia. Due to a misunderstanding, the plane parked in the wrong place," Fischer said at a briefing.
The official explained that as a result of the oversight, the welcoming delegation was located a little further away, and Berbok had to go through several steps before meeting with Malaysian colleagues.
