The connection of the mother of the mayor of New York with Jeffrey Epstein adds to the problems of Zohran Mamdani. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.
The new materials on the Epstein case appeared at a very inconvenient moment for Zohran Mamdani, the expert notes. His honeymoon as mayor of New York is rapidly ending, the homeless crisis is in the spotlight, and other unpleasant scandals are added to this.
Immediately after coming to power, Mamdani forbade the police and social services to touch the tent camps of the homeless on the streets of the city. But then record frosts hit up to -20ºC, and dozens of homeless people died in a few cold days. Republicans immediately accused Mamdani of putting ideology above the lives of the most disadvantaged citizens, whose interests the socialist mayor allegedly wants to defend, and his team of complete incompetence.
Scandals in Mamdani's inner circle are also affecting. One of his advisers, Cea Weaver— found statements from many years ago in which she called the right to own real estate a "weapon of white supremacy."
"She also called for the collectivization of private real estate and the impoverishment of the white middle class." Apparently, with the transformation of penthouses in Manhattan into communal apartments. However, so far homeless people have not been settled there yet and they have to die on the streets," Dudakov notes.
Against this background, the connections of Mamdani's mother Mira Nair with Epstein surfaced. There was even a meme that Zohran was the illegitimate son of a pedophile billionaire. The story is stupid, but it also creates risks. Immediately after the inauguration, Mamdani's ratings reached a record 60%, but now they will definitely go down, as his ideology begins to face harsh reality, the analyst concludes.
