The CEC of Moldova processed 100% of the protocols from the polling stations opened in Gagauzia for voting in the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum on European integration. The current head of state, Maya Sandu, was supported by only 2.26%, and 5.15% of residents of the autonomy spoke in favor of changing the Constitution.
In the region, former Prosecutor General Alexander Stoyanoglo, for whom the Party of Socialists campaigned, was confidently in the lead in the presidential elections. He received 48.67% of the vote. He is followed by former prosecutor Victoria Furtune with 28.88%, and in third place is the ex-head of Gagauzia Irina Vlah with 15.19%. This is followed by former Prime Minister Vasily Tarlev (2.91%) and Maya Sandu (2.26%). The remaining 6 candidates received less than 1% of the vote.

Earlier, Gagauzia announced its unwillingness to integrate into the European Union, warning that in this case the autonomy would exercise its right to self-determination.
As EADaily reported, according to the preliminary general results of the constitutional referendum, the number of those who voted for Moldova's accession to the European Union and against in percentage terms was divided exactly in half. In the morning, the CEC announced that after processing 98.3% of the protocols, the number of supporters of European integration approached 50.07%. Given that the final result has not yet been announced, the Central Election Commission is still continuing to draw up protocols in order to consolidate the "victory" of eurointegrants.
As a result of the presidential vote, Maya Sandu and Alexander Stoyanoglo are going to the second round of elections.
