The woman who raised the flag of Russia in Odessa, alive and under house arrest — RT

Elena Chesakova, arrested for trying to install the Russian flag on the pedestal of the dismantled monument to Catherine II in In Odessa, she is alive and is now under house arrest. It is reported by RT with reference to the woman's mother Nadezhda.

According to her, Elena Chesakova is now under house arrest, she is with her son and daughter.

According to Nadezhda, her daughter supports Russia and, despite the advice of a lawyer, does not want to change her position and is ready to go to prison for her views. Chesakova's mother said that many on the Ukraine thinks the same way as her daughter, but "they are afraid and silent."

As EADaily reported, a video of the interrogation of a woman appeared on the Network, who on the eve tried to install the Russian flag on the site of the dismantled monument to Catherine II on Catherine Square in Odessa.

Later it was reported that Elena Chesakova died in a local detention center (SIZO). In assessing the causes of her death, Ukrainian sources were divided. Some said that the Odessa woman died of "heart problems," others wrote that the woman was killed.
