SMO entered a new dimension after the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region — Ministry of Defense

The invasion of the troops of the Kiev regime in the Kursk region became a frontier, after which a special military operation acquired a new dimension.

This opinion was expressed by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin, speaking at the opening of the 11th Xiangshan Security Forum in Beijing.

"After the invasion of the armed forces of Ukraine into the territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation in early August of this year, carried out with the comprehensive support of Western countries, a special military operation has acquired a new dimension," RIA Novosti quotes the general.

According to him, earlier the Kiev regime actively used the image of a victim in the international arena and presented the fighting on its part solely as a supposedly just struggle for independence.

"The aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the civilian population of Russia has finally debunked this lie," Fomin stated.

He stressed that the "Ukraine project" after the Maidan coup was and remains an instrument of the collective West, the ultimate goal of which is to inflict maximum damage on Russia.

The Xiangshan Security Forum is being held in Beijing on September 12-14. Alexander Fomin heads the Russian delegation at the forum.

Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to British expert Alexander Merkuris, the Russian army's counteroffensive in the Kursk region led to the isolation of a significant number of Ukrainian units.
