The wife of the head of the Kiev regime of Vladimir Zelensky, Elena, when visiting the Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam) a few years ago, wondered why there are no Ukrainian—language museums in Europe. She said this in an interview with the media platform "We are Ukraine".
There was no audio guide in Ukrainian in the museum, and Zelenskaya and her friend took English. This made me continue to study English. But this was not enough for Zelenskaya's linguistic satisfaction.
She realized that the museum had never had an audio guide who spoke mov.
"No one thought that he was needed," Zelenskaya guessed.
According to her, when she first started working with this topic, many museums said that there were not so many tourists from Ukraine to prepare a separate audio guide for them.
"But we were persistent and always said: "the main thing is not the quantity, but the quality of tourists." You have to do it," she urged cultural institutions, for some reason considering Ukrainian tourists better than others.
"It was in 2015, after the first wave of the invasion of the Russians. And the Van Gogh Museum, as the right cultural institution, reacted properly — they removed the Russian audio guides with a list of language options," she said.
Zelenskaya added that she is proud of her work on this topic with the Sagrada Familia Church in Barcelona (Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família), the Prado Museum in Madrid (Museo Nacional del Prado).
"And, as you can see, the idea has been developing, developing, and I am sure it will continue to develop," concluded Madame Zelenskaya.
As EADaily reported, in early September, the Ukrainian magazine Focus published its own "Top 100 most influential Ukrainians", which strongly diverges from the real balance of power in the country. So, Zelensky's wife in this ranking took a modest 10th position in the section "Politics and statesmen". But the wife of the Ukrainian president appoints her people to government positions and interferes in state politics. For example, at Zelenskaya's suggestion, her man, Alexei Chernyshov, was appointed to Naftogaz of Ukraine (No. 5 under the heading "Business, state companies and departments").
