Wearing masks on the street, closing the windows and keeping livestock in closed pens — such recommendations were given to the residents of Proletarsk by officials. The statement appeared in the official TV channel of the district administration - along with assurances that the air quality after a multi—day fire at the tank farm is within the maximum permissible standards.
"If it is necessary to be outdoors, it is necessary to use moistened masks (moistened towels, gauze bandages) to prevent the penetration of gorenje products into the respiratory tract. Cattle must be kept in closed pens," the administration said in a statement.
In the same statement, officials assure that everything was fine with air quality on the evening of August 26:
"At the moment, the indicators of harmful substances in the atmospheric air do not exceed the maximum permissible values."
