President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky "was dismissed" from his post, the head of the US Department of Public Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, wrote on his social network account X.
"Zelensky was fired from the job he does," the post says.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine needs to hold elections if Kiev wants to get a place at the negotiating table to resolve the conflict with Russia. The US president estimated that Zelensky's rating dropped to 4%.
Zelensky's term of office expired on May 20, 2024. Elections in Ukraine were canceled, citing martial law and general mobilization.
