Investigative actions were carried out in several St. Petersburg police departments after the illegal detention of members of the Russian Community. This was reported in the press service of the SU IC Russia by city.
"A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated in the department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the GSU of the IC of Russia in the city of St. Petersburg on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official authority committed by a group of persons). Currently, investigative actions are being carried out in several police departments of the city of St. Petersburg," the agency said in a statement.
Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to open a criminal case against police officers because of the illegal detention of activists of the Russian Community.
On the eve of the house number 13 on Komendantsky Avenue there was a conflict between the men, which was caused by competition in a taxi. According to investigators, the police officers who arrived at the scene detained public figures for no reason, who came to find out why a group of visitors does not allow local taxi drivers to work.
Bastrykin instructed investigators to check the possible provision of illegal patronage by the police to taxi drivers, the legality of the work of carriers and the legality of their stay in Russia.
