The reasons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the regions bordering Ukraine, including the Kursk region, will be analyzed, and those responsible will be identified. However, the main thing now is to knock out the Ukrainian units beyond the state border. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the very beginning of today's operational meeting.

The meeting on the situation in the Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions was attended by members of the Security Council, the Government of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Presidential Administration, heads of law enforcement agencies, as well as the heads of the mentioned regions.

"The assessment of the events should certainly be given, and it will be done. But the main thing now is the solution of urgent tasks that are developing at this point in time and based on forecasts of the development of the situation," the president said.

It should be noted that according to a survey conducted by our agency, 73% of participants believe that the military leaders who allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack in the Kursk region should be demoted and sent to the front line. 21% of respondents chose the option that "they must first fulfill what they promised." 6% offer to "understand, forgive." The survey was conducted from 8 to 12 August. 10019 people voted.

On the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having crossed the state border, launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region, advancing tens of kilometers deep into Russian territory. On August 7, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov promised at a meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies with Russian President Vladimir Putin that "the operation will be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border." Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced a tough response that "will not keep you waiting."
