Akhmedov was detained as part of a criminal case against officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Central Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Patriot and the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center, which is being investigated by the Main Military Investigation Department. "The director of the Patriot Park was detained as part of a criminal case Vyacheslav Akhmedov, at the request of the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. The deputy head of the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, was also detained. According to the investigation, Akhmedov and Shesterov, together with their accomplices, were involved in the embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the work of the Patriot Park and the convention and exhibition center.
