A downed high-explosive part of the ATACMS missile fell on the roof of a nine-storey building on Simonka Street in Sevastopol, it pierced the roof, but got stuck on the technical floor, so no one was injured, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said.

"During the work of pyrotechnics to clean up the downed missile, a decision was made to evacuate people to a temporary accommodation," he wrote in the telegram channel.

On the night of August 2, Razvozhaev announced the repulse of a massive attack on Sevastopol. According to him, more than four air targets were shot down. Fragments of missiles or drones fell in some areas of the city.

In particular, part of General Ostryakov Avenue was cordoned off because "there are a lot of submunitions on the road" from the downed ATACMS. The avenue and the backup road were blocked until 12.00. If pyrotechnics realize that it is impossible to take out the wreckage from there to the landfill, they will destroy them on the spot, Razvozhaev said. Residents of nearby houses will be warned about such a decision.
