Sports Poland is buzzing — the leadership of the national TV channel TVP has suspended the country's famous sports commentator Przemyslaw Babarz for his reaction during the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.

Przemyslaw Babarz reacted emotionally to John Lennon's song "Imagine", which was sung by French singer Juliette Armane at the ceremony. As you know, Lennon himself said that this song "is essentially a Communist manifesto." In particular, there are such lines:

"Imagine that there are no countries either, there is no need to kill or die for someone. There are no religions..."

The Polish commentator clung to these words. On the air, he stated:

"A world without heaven, nations, religions, and this is a vision of a world that should embrace everyone. Unfortunately, this is the vision of communism."

As a result, Polish television decided to remove Przemyslaw Babiaz from commenting on the Olympic Games. In a statement, the channel's management said that "tolerance and reconciliation", which are "the basis of the standards of the new Polish television." The decision of the TV channel caused a wave of criticism from opposition Polish politicians. Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki sharply stated:

"You can't drown out the truth! The truth will protect itself! Your actions will be remembered, there will be no censorship."

The deputy from the Law and Justice party, Bartlemy Vrublevsky, echoes his former boss:

"This is an incredible scandal! One of the best and most humane sports commentators has been disqualified for expressing his opinion. Just like in the Polish People's Republic."

Even Polish President Andrzej Duda spoke out:

"I see that something new has appeared in our country. That we are not allowed to express our point of view."

EADaily adds that Polish politicians would be so eager to ostracize sodomite antics during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
