The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova has responded to US President Donald Trump who threatened Russia with a soon missile attack in Syria.
“US President Donald Trump has announced that Russia should get ready to shoot down missiles striking Syria. He wrote about it in Twitter: ‘Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!”.’ Smart missiles must be directed against terrorists, but not the legal government that has been fighting the international terrorism in its territory for several years. Well, by the way. Have they warned OPCW experts that the ‘smart’ missile are destroying all the proofs of chemical weapons being used on surface? Or is the whole idea in covering up the traces of the provocation by strikes of smart missiles, and the international experts will have nothing to search for?”
The US president was responding to a statement of Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin on Russia’s intention to shoot down American missiles in case they strike Syrian facilities. “Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’ You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!” Trump posted in Twitter.
