Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has announced that Saudi Arabiya continued to talk off the Syrian government from the cooperation with Iran. According to the leader of Hezbollah which fighters have been taking part in the Syrian war on the side of the government since 2012, recently, Riyadh envoys met with representative of Damascus trying to persuade them to cut the ties with Tehran, Tasnim news agency (Iran) reports.
In exchange for the split, the Saudis promised to stop supporting military groups of the Syrian opposition and give “hundreds of billions of dollars” for restoring the Syrian economy and infrastructure.
At the same time, Nasrallah noted that a similar offer had been made by Riyadh under the previous king, King Abdullah (who died in January 2015 - EADaily).
