The Russian defense ministry has informed that 39 instead of the 32 people, as was reported earlier, were killed in the crash of the An-26 Russian plane in Syria.
According to the press office of the defense ministry, 33 passengers and 6 crew members were aboard the plane that was to land in Khmeimim. The defense ministry stressed that all the victims were Russian military.
Previous reports were saying that 26 passengers and 6 crew members were onboard.
The Chief Military Investigation Body of the Russian Investigation Committee started criminal proceedings regarding the crash in Syria.
