President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of the European Council Donald Tusk have met in Aachen, Germany, today. The Ukrainian president said Ukraine expects the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga to provide a positive assessment of its actions on the way to the European integration and visa-free travel opportunities for Ukraine’s citizens.
According to the Ukrainian president’s press office, Poroshenko called for more distinct European perspectives for the Eastern Partnership countries that have firmly declared their European aspirations. He said Ukraine needs better coordinated actions towards peaceful settlement and implementation of the Minsk Agreements between the European Union and the United States.
The sides welcomed the decision of the Ukraine-EU Summit to send an EU assessment mission to Donbass. The Mission will start its activities today. Poroshenko and Tusk discussed the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan by Ukraine.
