Kazakhstan will ban the use of WhatsApp and Telegram. At the first stage, this measure will be introduced in relation to civil servants, reports exclusive.kz .
According to the publication, the order of the Ministry of Digital Development and Artificial Intelligence No. 343/NK comes into force in Kazakhstan on July 12. According to this document, employees of the quasi-public sector and owners of critical infrastructure facilities will have to use only those messengers whose servers are located on the territory of the republic.
The two most popular messengers WhatsApp and Telegram will be blocked. At the moment, the state proposes to use the domestic Aitu messenger as a replacement.
It is reported that if representatives of government agencies refuse to use the national application, the National Security Committee will initiate inspections. In addition, it is noted that authorized structures can access correspondence if necessary.
