Almost 100 new BTR-82A armored personnel carriers are to be supplied to the 201st Russian base in Tajikistan by the end of this year, Spokesman of the Central Military District Yaroslav Roshchupkin said on Monday.
The vehicles will be shipped from the Arzamas Machine Building Factory.
BTR-82A armored personnel carriers have a 30mm dual-feed automatic cannon, vertical and horizontal aiming systems and digital plane stabilizers. The vehicle is also fitted with an improved fire extinguishing system, new R-168-25-U2 radio station, Trona-1 topographic orientation system and night vision systems.
