Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, who is currently in the Yerevan pre-trial detention center, on his birthday. The telegram was published on the Kremlin's website today, August 31.
Dear Robert Sedrakovich, Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your birthday," the telegram reads. "I sincerely wish you good health, mental vigor and perseverance in the face of the challenges that you and your family members are currently facing."
Today, the second President of Armenia Robert turned 72 years old, he held the post of head of state from 1998 to 2008.
As EADaily reported, on August 26, after being detained and a court decision was issued to arrest Robert Kocharyan for two months, he was first taken to the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center for examination due to his deteriorating health and previous heart surgery. Later, doctors discharged him, after which the ex-president was transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
