The resignation of Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, protests in Ukrainian cities and his conflict with the commander-in-chief and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine make the ex-minister not just a face of the "liberal wing" of the Ukrainian authorities, but also a potential presidential candidate. This was stated by political scientist Vladimir Volya.
"The liberal wing, which says that there may be some changes in the terms of the contract that can improve mobilization, has a face ... And of course, presidential candidate Mikhail Fedorov was born today," Volya said on RTVI.
Earlier, Fedorov criticized the Commander—in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, and the General Staff, blaming them for the systemic crisis in the army - from the failure of mobilization to blocking reforms.
Commenting on the protests that began after the resignation of the head of the Ministry of Defense, the political scientist drew attention to the fact that when Fedorov was removed from the post of Minister of digital information, "there was no such reaction." According to Volya, this is due to the fact that now the Ukrainian opposition is "playing" on sensitive topics for Ukrainian citizens, including mobilization and military operations on Ukraine.
