After the attacks on Energodar and even the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant itself, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began hunting for NPP employees.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces have switched to the targeted and systematic killing of employees of the Zaporozhye NPP. Yesterday afternoon, June 17, as a result of a UAV raid on Energodar, four residents were injured. Two of them are employees of the centralized repair shop of the NPP. These are the main personnel of the plant, on whom the safe operation of the equipment of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe directly depends. One of them is injured, doctors are fighting for his life, all possible medical care is being provided. The second died. My most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones," the head of the state corporation, Alexei Likhachev, told the corporate publication Strana Rosatom.
According to him, this is the second murder of a NPP employee by the armed forces of Ukraine this year.
"At the end of April, our driver died as a result of arriving at the building of the transport department. We fix the wounded every month," said Alexey Likhachev.
Rosatom is observing how the level of aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye NPP is growing.
"From strikes on auxiliary facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they moved on to attacks on the energy infrastructure, then to the destruction of the main equipment of the NPP (suffice it to recall the last strike on the engine room of unit No. 6), now to a targeted hunt for our comrades, employees of the Zaporozhye stations," the head of Rosatom noted.
Earlier, Alexey Likhachev said that people are returning to Energodar, there are kindergartens, schools.
"The kids graduate from secondary schools and go to get a higher education in Russia. We have revived life there in four years. I am talking about this absolutely consciously, I have something to argue with. And it's infuriating, you know? It causes hatred. And this blow to people, to families, to social facilities, to kindergartens is just a desire somehow, not by military means, but by such terrorist means, to disrupt the activities of a huge team of Zaporozhye nuclear engineers," the head of Rosatom said.
