An impressive queue of trucks formed on the Kazakh-Russian border. According to the press service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, a multi-kilometer traffic jam has accumulated at the Kosak checkpoint.
The main reason for the congestion of cars is the seasonal factor, when the volume of transportation of vegetables between countries has grown sharply, and the capacity cannot cope with the increased traffic. Truckers have to spend hours in line waiting for registration.
The authorities assure that the situation is under control. The checkpoint has been switched to an enhanced mode of operation, all possible lanes and employees are involved. Interaction with local executive bodies has also been organized in order to unload access roads.
Drivers are advised to take into account delays when planning routes and to stock up on water and food.
