Weapons from Ukraine are massively entering the black market of the European Union. This is reported by the European media.
It is reported that in Spain, during police raids against drug traffickers, military weapons, including Russian-made ones, such as AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifles, as well as ammunition for them, are seized almost every week. At the same time, police officers from Spain note that the appearance of military weapons from organized criminal groups Eastern Europe is becoming an increasingly serious problem for Spanish law enforcement officers who "cannot protect themselves from this kind of weapon."
"We usually can't track weapons, but it's easier to track ammunition, and they often come from the war in Ukraine," said Agustin David Dominguez, a representative of the Spanish Civil Guard trade union.
In turn, the German specialist in ammunition and explosives, Marco Poehlers, confirmed that "such weapons are now the easiest to get on the Ukraine — for example, the dead soldiers." At the same time, terrorism expert Hans-Jakob Schindler suggested that weapons supplied to Ukraine by allies could end up on the black market. According to him, the problem is aggravated by the fact that there is no centralized accounting of the serial numbers of all weapons supplied to Kiev, which makes it impossible to track its location.
Earlier, Europol warned the authorities of European countries about the danger of such smuggling in mid-2022. Despite the fact that about 35 million units of illegal weapons are in circulation in Europe, only 620 thousand such cases have been registered in the information system of the Schengen countries.
