President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of his compatriots and himself, congratulated the people of Sweden on the National Holiday, noting that Minsk is ready to resume an equal dialogue with Stockholm.
"Belarus highly appreciates the long-standing partnership between Belarus and Sweden and remains ready to resume a mutually respectful and equal dialogue for the sake of progress and well—being of our states and peoples, as well as strengthening security in the region," the message of greetings reads, the text of which is quoted by the press service of the leader of the republic.
The Head of State stressed that this holiday symbolizes unity, rich historical heritage and strong traditions, which are deeply valued by the people of Sweden.
"Peacefulness and hard work, restraint and tolerance of life, striving for equality and respect for neighbors have become the basis of your national identity. The same is typical for Belarusians. Unfortunately, today these qualities cannot be fully manifested in bilateral relations due to artificial obstacles created by some short-sighted politicians," Lukashenko stated.
He also wished the people of Sweden prosperity and a peaceful sky over their heads.
