The European Union is not currently discussing the possible candidacy of a "negotiator with Russia," but only its demands to the Russian Federation. This was announced today, June 5, by the representative of the European Commission Anita Hipper at a briefing in Brussels.
According to her, the European Union allegedly "supports any peaceful formats."
"But we are not discussing now who should be the negotiator. Last month, the High Representative (of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas. — EADaily) held a discussion about our demands to Russia at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus," she said.
In turn, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that no one is calling Europe to negotiate with Russia. According to him, the EU is not preparing for negotiations with Russia, because in that case Estonia would have been invited to the discussion, but it was not invited anywhere.
Recall, the European Union condemns Russia's actions on Ukraine. Due to the fact that Brussels and most of the Union countries support Kiev, Moscow does not see an opportunity to consider the EU as a negotiator.
